Chelsea’s Rudiger ‘eyed by Madrid and United’, Gleison Bremer EXCLUSIVE, Covid delay LATEST

PRIOR STARS MUST BE TESTED DAILY

ALL Prem stars will have to take a side flow test EVERY day as clubs prepare for potential crowd restrictions in the coming weeks, write MARTIN LIPTON.

The top 20 flight clubs have agreed to adopt new “emergency” measures to prevent the spread of the virus in the face of concerns about the Omicron variant.

These include the daily tests for all negative Prem players and staff that are required to be allowed into the training ground.

Club chiefs have been informed that there are no plans to limit fan numbers at this stage.

But there are growing expectations that the Government may introduce additional measures – although these will soon happen when Prem is shut down unless the snow virus is completely out of control.

In an additional move to the daily tests, each player and staff member will also be required to perform PCR tests twice per week.

Prem bosses believe the new regulations are a recognition of Omicron’s transmission rates.

Daily sideline checks as well as additional PCR samples will allow Federation leaders to stay up to date on the potential for the virus to spread and act quickly if warning signs are present.

After Tottenham’s game against Brighton was postponed on Sunday and last night’s clash between Brentford and Manchester United, club owners suggested that further individual matches could become prey for the virus.

However, at this stage there is no threat to the season, with clubs assuring that the precautions they are taking under the Government’s Plan B will avoid the outcome. worst.

That will see fans warned they will have to show proof of their status having been vaccinated twice or test negative for Covid and wear masks more in stadiums.
