Chelsea striker Sam Kerr booked after smashing pitch invader to the ground

Chelsea striker Sam Kerr was cautioned after handling some rough justice with a pitch invader during the Women’s Champions League match against Juventus in south-west London on Wednesday night.

The Australian has been described by coach Emma Hayes as the best striker in the world after helping Chelsea win a domestic treble with two goals in the FA Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley on Sunday.

Kerr showed more skill in following the Australian rules she played for as a child when she lunged at the fan who ran onto Kingsmeadow at the end of Wednesday’s game, leaving him lying in the dirt above ground.

Yellow card contributed to an unpleasant night for Kerr and Chelsea when Juventus held a 0-0 draw.

As a result, the English champions need a draw against Wolfsburg next week to secure their place in the quarter-finals.
