FORGET THE MAN Lewis Baker has finally left Chelsea after seventeen years to join Stoke on a permanent deal.
26 years old just do TWO first appearance for the West London club.
In the 2013/14 season, he was named the club’s Young Player of the Year.
But the once-appreciated prospect had only one appearance in the FA Cup third round in the Blues shirt.
One in the 2014 draw with Derby and eight years later, in attacked Chesterfield last week.
Baker was loaned out to a total of eight other teams during his time at Stamford Bridge.
This includes spells at five clubs in England’s lower division, spending time with Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Middlesbrough, Leeds And read.
International campaigns include two seasons at Dutch outfit Vitesse and playing against Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany, and Trabzonspor in Turkey.
Technically gifted midfielder becomes Stoke’s third transfer of the January transfer window.
Michael O’Neill’s team is in 10th place in the Championship, 7 points ahead of the playoffs.
The manager spoke to Official website of the club and said: “From speaking to Lewis, it is clear that he is ready to take root at a club and start his career.
“He is a very talented midfielder who will bring another dimension to our squad and we are delighted to have him with us.”
