Charlotte County opens cold weather shelters for the weekend

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Charlotte County officials have announced a cold weather shelter will open this weekend.

The Homeless Coalition on 1476 Kenesaw Street in Port Charlotte will open its doors to those seeking shelter from the cold, according to a Charlotte County press release.

The announcement comes after the National Weather Service forecast “near freezing” temperatures throughout the weekend.

The shelter will accept guests from 5:30pm to 7:00pm on Saturday and Sunday nights. For more information, people should contact Todd Dunn at (941)740-1929 or [email protected]
