Celebrity Gogglebox stars in tears as they watch emotional Big Boys scene in Pride special

The stars of celebrity glasses box were in tears after seeing the coming out scene big boys.

Friday night’s (July 1st) episode of the Channel 4 series was a Pride special and saw a cast of LGBTQ+ celebrities and their loved ones tuning in to the biggest shows of the week.

The episode ended with the cast watching a sitcom big boys, based on the life of comedian Jack Rooke (played by Dylan Llewellyn). You can read The Independent‘s review of the show here.

In the final episode, Jack comes out to his mother, Peggy (Camille Coduri), while Gok Wan tells Fearne Cotton, “I want to hold your hand,” as they prepare to watch.

“I will cry,” Heartbeatr’s Joe Locke said.

The series prompted the show’s stars to discuss their own coming-out stories, with Scott Mills saying, “I remember that conversation with my mom so well.”

“I mean, it’s nerve-wracking. I ran away for a few hours, didn’t I, in a field,” Rylan Clark recalled of his own mother.

“When I told my mom about it, she said, ‘You’re not going to wear my clothes, are you?'” said Steps’ Ian “H” Watkins.

When Jack told his mother he was gay, Nick Grimshaw’s niece Liv and Strict Star John White broke down in tears.

“It’s so close to the bone,” Wan said, while Locke added, “I just want to hug him tight.”

“I’m feeling really emotional,” H said, and his bandmate Claire Richards said, “I know I need to get my tissue out.”

Yasmin Finney told her heart stopper Co-stars: “Oh my god, I just got goosebumps.”

In the scene, Peggy reveals that his father suspected Jack might be gay before he died, and then tells her son that she doesn’t care what his sexuality is.

An emotional Whaite called it “a master class in good parenting” during his time. Strict Partner Johannes Radebe cried next to him. Then the two toasted to “the queer kids”.

“It’s the best reaction ever,” said Nick Grimshaw.
