Carl Heastie’s “Mercy” sees a teenage girl die at the hands of another teen

Angellyh Yambo had just turned 16 when she came caught in gangsta crossfire in front of a high school in the Bronx, ripped out of this world far too early. But her accused murderer Jeremiah Ryan, could have escaped prison Pending trial under New York’s insane laws simply because he’s a teenager himself.

According to Speaker Carl Heastie and his all too many allies in the legislature, this is justice.

According to the city’s Criminal Justice Agency, Ryan even had a perfect score to qualify for release as he has no criminal record. Luckily, Judge Vidya Pappachan agreed to hold Ryan, 17, without bail, stating, “Based on the charges before this court,” he “did not believe that monetary bail, as the least restrictive condition, would be appropriate to secure the des to ensure defendants are back in court.”

Even then, Pappachan said he would have to reconsider the bail after the investigative phase, when prosecutors must share all of the evidence with the defense within weeks.

So Angellyh’s family may still have to deal with the alleged killer of her lover “beautiful soul” walk free

This crime was a case of blatant disregard for innocent life. Two idiots started yelling at each other obscenely, then at least one of them pulled out a gun and opened fire—with me three youths shot. (The other two students will luckily survive.)

Ryan may not have any arrests, but He’s been known to the NYPD for yearsSources tell the Post how he handles guns for gangbangers, knowing that New York law would protect him from serious consequences if he was caught packing.

His grandfather insists he’s a “good kid,” and he probably once was. But foolish legislation – some state legislatures are adamantly refusing to fix it – clearly made him a target to be brought into the gang world, and obviously made him feel like he could carry it without fear of real trouble if he did was picked up.

Then a chance encounter with an enemy resulted in the death of a completely innocent girl.

Heastie defends these laws, arguing that teenagers’ brains aren’t fully developed yet and their lives shouldn’t be ruined by terrible choices. But one purpose of the law is to teach the consequences of dangerous actions to those who haven’t learned it any better—like you avoid these decisions.

Instead, Heastie’s Law encouraged Kids like Jeremiah Ryan to take the wrong path and ruin their lives in other ways.

And with the horrifying by-product of depriving angels like Angellyh of their futures. How is that mercy, Mr. Speaker?
