Capitol rioter Troy Faulkner, who wore a jacket with his name on it, pleads guilty

A rioter who was seen kicking in a window of the U.S. Capitol while wearing a jacket with his name and company phone number on it pleaded guilty to destroying federal property on Friday, federal authorities said.

On January 6, 2021, Troy Faulkner was caught on camera smashing a Capitol window with his boot while wearing a “Faulkner Painting” jacket, which also features the phone number for his Columbus, Ohio store was.

Faulkner agreed to pay $10,560 in damages to cover repairing the damage and could face up to eight months in prison, his attorney told NBC News.

Faulkner, 41, transformed himself just days after violent mobs of former President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol to prevent Congress from confirming his election defeat.

At the time, he told the Columbus Patch website that he was trapped and enraged at the moment police shot him in the chest with an unidentified object.

“It seemed like the cops were going to piss us off and let them straight into the building in the front, so I think everything was set up for the Trump people,” he reportedly said. “I knew I shouldn’t have kicked in the window. I was upset and not thinking rationally.”

More than 340 of the more than 840 people arrested over the storming of the Capitol have pleaded guilty in connection with the riots.

On Monday, Texas gunman Guy Reffitt was sentenced to more than seven years in prison – the harshest sentence to date in connection with the killing spree.
