Callum Wilson says the player Chelsea released in 2022 “surprised” him in training like Bellingham

Callum Wilson has spoken a lot about ex-Chelsea star Ross Barkley and how he “surprised” him while training in England alongside Jude Bellingham.
The Newcastle United striker returned to the England squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after not being selected for a number of years.
But when he first joined the England squad, Ross Barkley was still at Chelsea, playing regularly and doing quite well.
Here, the current Luton midfielder impressed the Newcastle man as he explained that Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham now holds that light, as he said The footballer’s football show.
No one has ever questioned the talent in Barkley’s shoes. It was just a lack of football intelligence, poor decision-making and a lack of consistency in his game.
Because of this, the 29-year-old has suffered a decline since leaving Chelsea in 2022, including an underwhelming spell at Nice last season, and he is now at newly promoted Luton.

Ross Barkley and Jude Bellingham training in England
“First time joining the camp,” Wilson said. “One of my first was Ross Barkley, who I was pleasantly surprised by.
“You play against him and things like that. But when you’re really close. He was a really good player.
“Then I showed up for the World Cup squad after a break. I think it took a few years for Jude Bellingham to get there. Everyone was talking about him.
“Then when I got up close, I thought, ‘Okay, this guy is fine.’ “He’s got a little bit more,” then a week goes by, then two weeks goes by, the more you train and play with him, and the more confidence he gains, the more you think, “This guy’s going to be a player.” We’re seeing now the best of Jude and for England, where he has recently been unplayable. I would say recently Jude and previously Ross (as the one who surprised me).”

Jude Bellingham – one of the best in the world
Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. The 20-year-old just can’t stop scoring goals and proving that he is one of the best players in the world.
Jude Bellingham already has five La Liga goals to his name, including an injury-time winner.
Well, he was at it again on Wednesday, this time against Union Berlin in the Champions League, and his stoppage-time winner helped Carlo Ancelotti’s side take all three points.
