Call of Duty: Vanguard tops November NPD charts

The NPD team recently released game and hardware sales figures made for November, and it’s not surprising that Call of Duty dominates, with the latest entry, Vanguard, taking the top spot of the charts. and immediately took second place in the five daily charts behind its older sibling, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Notably, this is the 14th year in a row that a Call of Duty game has taken the top spot.

Elsewhere on the list, Forza Horizon 5 and Shin Megami Tensei 5 both have record months of their own. Forza Horizon 5 took 4th place for the month, making it the best launch month for the franchise. Shin Megami Tensei 5 also achieved the highest debut for the franchise, debuting at number 16. Battlefield 2042 also took the number two spot for the month.

In terms of hardware sales, the Nintendo Switch is the best-selling console for the month and year-to-date, with overall hardware sales dropping 38% largely due to a lack of hardware.

Meanwhile, mobile games have thrived during the pandemic, with spend rising 11% year-on-year, boosted by titles like Candy Crush Saga, Roblox, Genshin Impact , Pokémon GO and Call of Duty: Mobile.

Call of Duty remains a record success that comes amid continued allegations of workplace abuse and sexism, not to mention destroy unions. And they’re not the only company that needs to face its demons lately, with Bungie is the latest allegation of a toxic workplace to come to light.
