Burst water main floods New York City subway station and streets

A water main burst in SoHo flooded a subway station and surrounding streets, halting some trains on Sunday, officials said.
“Around 10:41 a.m., New York City Transit personnel observed a water condition on the 1/2/3 line near Canal Street as a result of a water main burst,” MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan said in a statement.
Canal Street Station on Broadway in Manhattan was inundated with water, as were some streets around it, photos show.
As a result, No. 3 train service was suspended, No. 1 train service was suspended between South Ferry and 14th Street, and No. 2 trains operated on the No. 5 line between Nevins Street in Brooklyn and the 149th Street-Grand Concourse in the Bronx in both directions.
