Britney Spears’ mother Lynne apologizes for daughter’s ‘pain’

Britney Spears’ mother Lynne has publicly apologized for any “pain” the singer endured during her 13-year conservatorship.

Last year, a judge ruled that the singer regained control of her personal and financial independence for the first time since 2008.

After Britney wrote on Instagram last week that “a sincere apology” would help her family [her] Closure,” Lynne wrote in the comments, “Sooo sorry for your pain! I’ve been sorry for years!”

She added: “I love you so much and miss you! Britney, deep down you know how much I love and miss you! I apologize for everything that hurt you!”

Lynne asked Britney to “please release” her so they “can talk in person.”

The conservatory was formed in 2008 after the singer’s father, Jamie Spears, petitioned the court to take control of his daughter’s personal life and finances.

He pointed to her public mental health issues as justification for the move, and what was meant to be a temporary arrangement was made permanent by the end of this year.

Last summer, Britney made a explosive statement to be cleared of her conservatorship, telling a judge, “I just want my life back.”

“I was in shock. I’m traumatized,” Britney said, as she branded the conservatory “abusive” and even suggested her father be jailed for his role in it.

Spears also told the court that she was forced to use birth control, take medication and work against her will. Britney Spears’ mother Lynne apologizes for daughter’s ‘pain’
