The information was later confirmed by NBC Newswho received the statement in a text from her own source: “They are separated and it is for the best for Britney.”

The story is currently circulating that a heated argument ensued after Asghari “confronted Britney about rumors she had turned her back on him,” but that has yet to be confirmed by either of them at this time.
