LONDON (Reuters) – British clothing retailer Next is closing its Russian stores in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, joining a growing list of companies avoiding the country.
Next has told employees at its Russian distribution center, which fulfills Russian online orders to Russian customers, that it will be operating properly and shutting down the website in the next few days, a company spokesman said.
The movement of bulk stock from the UK to the Russian hub was halted last week.
Russia accounts for just a tiny percentage of Next’s total sales.
