Bridgeton The second season has finally arrived on Netflix and it features tributes to two members of the show’s production staff.
The second appearance of Netflix’s hit period drama fell on Friday (March 25) and focused on Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his search for a wife.
Tune in, fans noticed that the season was dedicated to two people: Marc Pilcher and Carole Prentice.
Episode one is dedicated to Pilcher, season one’s hair and makeup designer.
Pilcher, who won a Creative Arts Emmy for his work in the first season, died in October after contracting Covid-19.
Nicola Couglan, who plays Penelope Featherington in the Netflix series, paid an emotional tribute to Pilcher after his death.
“So heartbroken by the loss of Marc Pilcher, the brilliant and visionary hair and makeup designer for Bridgeton Season one,” she wrote.
“Marc was so passionate about his work and so incredibly talented. Less than a month ago, he won his first Emmy Award. It’s a tragedy that he was taken so young when he still had so much to do.”
The final episode of Season 2 ends with a title card that reads “In Memory of Carole Prentice.”
Bridgeton Season two was filmed under strict Covid-19 protocols during the pandemic.
Prentice worked on the series as Covid production manager, making sure all the rules were followed so filming could safely proceed.
In January, an operation went wrong and Prentice died 20 days later.
Her son remembered her as a “warrior” on social media and wrote, “Here is the best mom/dad/parent/guardian/mentor/role model/grandma/grandfather/cousin/uncle/aunt/person I have ever had become the privilege of knowledge.”
Bridgeton Season 2 is available to stream now on Netflix.
