Brendan Fraser reveals we mispronounced his name: ‘F–k it’

By George, we’ve been mispronouncing George of the Jungle star Brendan Fraser’s name the whole time.
Speaking to Adam Sandler for Variety’s Actors on Actors series of interviews, Fraser, 54, claimed that no one’s ever gotten his name right — even though he’s all the rage for his role on The Whale.”
Instead of pronunciation similar to the ’90s sitcom Frasier, Fraser says his name actually rhymes with Razor.
“You shave with a straight razor,” Fraser instructed Sandler, before quipping, “You should try to get closer.”
That advice ended up on the cutting room floor when the Uncut Gems star once again mispronounced Fraser’s name later in the interview.
“OK. Screw it,” Fraser said, sounding dejected. “Nobody ever got my name right.”

“Brendan Fraser!” Sandler yelled and got it right before admitting, “Look, that didn’t feel right.”
“It felt good though,” Fraser replied. “As long as people say so.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Fraser recalled the drastic effort he went to to achieve his desired physique for 1997’s “George of the Jungle.”
“I was waxed. Starved for carbs,” he revealed. “I would drive home after work and stop to eat.”
“One day I needed some cash and I went to the ATM and I couldn’t remember my pin number because my brain was freezing. Hit that thing. I didn’t eat anything that night,” he added.
Earlier this week, Fraser was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in Darren Aronofsky’s new drama The Whale, though he has sworn off the awards forever.
Fraser claimed former Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Philip Berk sexually assaulted him in 2003, an exchange that the HFPA says was “not an intended sexual advance.”
