“Breaks his neck”: Tim Sherwood praises Tottenham trio in victory over Liverpool

Not even the most ardent Spurs fans expected this, but it was an incredible start from Tottenham Hotspur and Ange Postecoglou.
It took a lot of pressure and scrumming but Tottenham managed to get over the line and secure a dramatic win over nine-man Liverpool in stoppage time.
While Joel Matip scored the unfortunate winner for Spurs by converting into his own goal, the first goal came after a bit of magic from James Maddison, Richarlison and Son Heung-min, which Tim Sherwood said he praised be in sports.
Many people may be on Richarlison’s side, but these are two home games in a row in which he played a crucial role in Spurs’ victory.
Yes, more goals are needed, but the Brazil international is proving far more effective under Ange Postecoglou.
After starting the season previously in the middle, Richarlison was deployed on the left against Liverpool, something Tim Sherwood appealed to.

Tottenham remain undefeated
“It was a great goal,” Sherwood said. “A great run from Richarlison. Plays on the left side. We didn’t know if Son would play on the left (or in the middle).
“As soon as he gets free, it was a great pass into Gomez (from Maddison) and Son just breaks his neck to get over the defender and he finishes the ball brilliantly.”

Tottenham’s attack is fluid
It required hard work. Very hard work. But Spurs managed to get over the finish line yesterday, even if the game was marred and dominated by VAR – with Jamie O’Hara fuming after the game.
The players in Spurs colors don’t care because they have three points and are in second place in the Premier League table.
While Tottenham supporters were looking forward to a change of style under their new, attack-minded coach, not many probably expected such a turnaround.
