BOSTON (CBS) – Keep doing what we know works; That’s the message from leading health experts in Boston and across the country as we learn more about the latest COVID-19 variant Omicron.
“I would say, today, don’t panic,” says Dr. Shira Doron of Tufts Medical Center. “This is not an on/off switch. There is no scenario where I envision these vaccines being completely ineffective against Omicron.”
People who are fully vaccinated – especially booster – can live their lives, Doron said. There’s more COVID-19 out there, and we know the right precautions for it.
Things like washing your hands, social distancing and wearing a mask inside – a measure Chelsea Health Council has rolled out again starting Friday.
Dr. Doron stresses to anyone still unvaccinated – now is the time.
