Body of a boy, 17, found after teenager was stabbed to death in Manchester park

An investigation by MURDER was launched after the body of a 17-year-old man was discovered in the park.

Police were called to Clowes Park, Salford around 7:30 am this morning.

Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene, but the man was upset when he arrived.

Police later confirmed that the 17-year-old had suffered a stab wound when the area was tied up for investigation.

Relatives of the man have been notified.

No arrest warrants have been issued.

In a statement, Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Davies of the GMP Major Incidents Team said: “This is a tragic incident and the impact will no doubt have on the community and Greater Manchester.

“We have opened a full investigation and detectives from our Main Incident Team are working quickly to establish all the facts and ensure we support his loved one through this horrible time and make sure to bring the person or people responsible for his death to Justice.

“I would urge anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant you feel, to contact the police as a matter of urgency.

“Any information, or footage, could prove important to our investigation.”

Greater Manchester Police have since urged anyone with information to do so by calling 101 and quoting reference number 854.
