Black Panther: Wakanda Forever fans are complaining about Avenger’s ‘plot gap’ in new MCU sequel

Marvel fans have complained about an alleged “plot hole” in the newly released sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The film follows on from the successful blockbuster of 2018 Black Pantherand sees the characters grapple with the death of King T’Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman in the first film.
Wakanda forever was warmly received by critics, including The Independent‘s Clarisse Loughrey, who wrote in her four-star review: “[The] Movie certainly isn’t without the occasional dodgy bit of CGI – which is, it seems, a requirement of belonging to the MCU. But there is more than enough wit, beauty and fantasy in it Wakanda forever to make up for his weaknesses.”
However, some viewers have grappled with this manner Wakanda forever connects to the events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
The problem concerns the end of Infinite War. In the moody climax of this film, Josh Brolin’s villain Thanos orchestrated the “blip” that wiped out half of all life in the universe.
During the Blip – which was reversed after five years in universe during the events of endgame – addressed in many later films and series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was not a major plot point Wakanda forever.
Additionally, many fans have raised questions about the lack of effect the blip seemed to have had on life in Wakandan, and wonder why there has only now been an urgent effort to fill the role of Black Panther — if the country’s protector previously been dead for five years during the blips.
Others also questioned how the film failed to address how the blip had flowed into the underwater nation of Talokan, ruled by Namor (Tenoch Huerta Mejía). Wakanda foreverthe rogue.

Fans shared their thoughts on the subject on social media.
“Opening plot hole in #WakandaForever,” one person wrote. “T’Cholla [sic] been “dead” for the past five years. Before that, what did Wakanda do in his absence? His mother probably ruled. Who was the Black Panther during this period? did they have one Seems like they want or need one.”

“Why was this only resolved after T’Challa came back and then died?” They continued. “Hadn’t the nation already mourned his loss and figured out a way to succeed him? Seems like they just forgot about Marvel continuity and wrote this completely as if Wakanda existed outside of it.”
“I need more than a brief mention of Thanos in Black Panther 2‘ wrote another person. “Who ran Wakanda during the blip? Did they have a funeral for T’Challa?
“We reviewed a film about grief with T’Challa, but nothing about how he’s literally died twice already.”
“The Blip… Weren’t Namor and his people affected?” another person asked. “It seems like a better motive to surface than what they used.”
