Boseman died of cancer in 2020 at the age of 43. He was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 but decided not to make the news public.

In an interview with TMZ, Derrick Boseman says he thinks his brother’s character, King T’Challa, needs to live on. Black Panther Franchising. Even if that means replacing Boseman in the role.

He added that there aren’t many “positive effects on young black children” and that Marvel chance to bring T’Challa back and give fans a superhero they can trust.

Derrick made it clear that “Chadwick never explicitly expressed his wishes, prior to his death, about what would happen to the character”.

The petitioners asked for clarification that their efforts did not mean they wanted Marvel to replace Boseman, but merely asked to continue portraying T’Challa in the MCU.

In this week, hashtag #RecastTChalla is also trending on Twitter.

“Chadwick Boseman overcame cancer to give T’Challa life. Now you want to kill T’Challa despite Chadwick Boseman’s sacrifice and hard work? #RecastTchalla out of respect for Chadwick and the character’s history! ” one fan wrote.
