Black gun rights activists call for ‘closed borders’ at Austin protests

A group of armed black Second Amendment activists marched through Austin over the weekend urging the US to close its borders and end illegal immigration.

Protesters gathered by the Elmer Geronimo Pratt Gun Club marched through the city to the Texas Capitol on Saturday on what is known as the “Second Amendment Unity Walk.”

As they marched through the streets, activists shouted chants in support of closed borders and against immigration, according to footage we recorded Journalist Ford Fisher.

“What do we want?” asked a protester.

“Borders closed,” the group yelled back.

“When do we want it?” asked the protester.

“Now,” the group replied.

In another chant, the protesters urged the immigrants to return to their home countries.

“Immigrants, we’ve been here,” a woman shouted into a megaphone. “Take your a- home,” the group chanted in response.

A woman tried to start a “build the wall” chant in reference to former President Donald Trump’s campaign promise to build a border wall between the US and Mexico.

However, their attempt did not end well.

“Yeah, let’s not do that,” one person replied.

After the march, Elmer Geronimo Pratt Gun Club founder Nick Bezzel said that the group is not opposed to immigration itself, but rather deals with illegal immigration.

“Often black jobs are taken away because of illegal immigration,” Bezzel said. “Black people are barred from employment because of illegal immigration, so we want to stop illegal immigration so black people can make a living.”

The group’s calls for an end to illegal immigration come as Republican leaders like Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey are moving migrants from their states to liberal havens like New York City, Washington, , DC and Martha’s Vineyard.

However, the main demands of the Black Gun Rights Group were reparations for the descendants of slaves and a hate crimes law to specifically protect black Americans.

“There is a debt to black Americans who come from child slavery,” Bezzel told the group. Black gun rights activists call for ‘closed borders’ at Austin protests
