Bill Murray at center of ‘inappropriate behavior’ allegation on set of Aziz Ansari’s now-stalled directorial debut

Production of Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut, to be mortalwas reportedly suspended over an alleged complaint regarding her star, Bill Murray.

Corresponding meetingthe alleged complaint relates to “inappropriate conduct” and was filed last week.

After the first complaint, production was stopped for three days. The decision to halt production entirely was shared with the cast and crew in a letter Wednesday night.

“At the end of last week we became aware of a complaint which we immediately investigated,” the letter reads, he reported vanity fair.

“After reviewing the circumstances, it has been decided that production cannot proceed at this time. We are really grateful to you all for everything you put into this project. We hope to resume production and are working with Aziz and Youree to determine that timing.” Youree Henley is producing the film.

to be mortal based on the 2014 book by surgeon Atul Gawande, Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End. In addition to directing, Ansari also directs his own Netflix show master of nothing – wrote the screenplay and will star in the film alongside Seth Rogen.

The film was discussed for a 2023 release. However, meeting states that it is now unclear whether the film will live up to that date thanks to the suspension. Production reportedly began on March 28.

A Murray’s representative has been reached for comment.

In 2021, Lucy Liu opened up about the alleged falling out she had with Murray while filming the 2000 film Charlie’s Angel.

Speaking of The Los Angeles Times Asian enough Podcast, the actress said she wouldn’t “go into the details,” but there was a moment when she defied Murray on set.
