‘Big Little Lies’ star reveals season 3 fate

Guess the secret is out.
“Big Little Lies” star Zoë Kravitz announced Tuesday that there will be no third season of the HBO show, GQ reports.
According to Kravitz, the cast and crew considered doing a third season, but the death of the series’ director and executive producer Jean-Marc Vallée meant the idea was stranded.
“I don’t think so,” said the 33-year-old Fantastic Beasts actress. “We’ve talked a lot about doing a Season 3. Unfortunately our incredible director Jean-Marc Vallée passed away last year.
“It’s heartbreaking,” she added. “I can’t imagine going on without him. He really was the visionary for this show. Unfortunately it’s over.”
Vallée, best known for his work on Dallas Buyers Club and Hulu’s Sharp Objects, died of a heart attack in December 2021 at the age of 58.
Other cast members, such as Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Reese Witherspoon have all been vocal in supporting the series to continue.
Dern told Entertainment Tonight that they “hope” for a third season.

“I mean, we all wouldn’t love anything more,” she continued. “We’re like family, only very happy. I say let’s hope. Let’s keep asking. It could just come true.”
The Post reached out to HBO for comment.
Witherspoon echoed the sentiment.
“We always talk and text. But Jean-Marc Vallée’s death was really hard for us,” the Legally Blonde star told The Hollywood Reporter.
“He was our collaborator,” she said. “He was our friend. He was our brother. So much of this series came from his imagination and creativity, so it’s hard to imagine a future without him. But we all certainly have a deep desire to connect and recreate those characters.”
