Biden’s response to the Maui fires fits the pattern of ignoring issues

President Joe Biden will recover Monday from his week-long vacation in Lake Tahoe to finally visit fire-ravaged Maui.
The political spat just got too big: Last Sunday, he didn’t interrupt his weekend trip to the beach to utter more than an icy “No comment” on the disaster – even as the death toll neared 100.
He didn’t talk to reporters about it the next day either.
And when he finally responded, he said he wanted to keep his remarks short, grumbling, “But I need to talk a little bit about Hawaii.”
Man, I’m sorry to cause you so much trouble, Joe.
He then distorted his reference to Maui and mistakenly called it the “Big Island” (that’s the island of Hawaii).
No wonder his staff are trying to silence him.
All too typical: This Prez avoids, ignores, dodges, distracts, and even outright lies—until he’s finally dragged down with kicks and screams Somehow tackle a problem.
- In 2021, Biden ignored warnings that his multi-billion dollar spending plan would fuel inflation.

When prices went up, he ignored that too.
He then admitted that inflation was a problem but claimed it would only be temporary.
Even though prices are still astronomically high, he blames the slowdown in inflation, while the Federal Reserve’s interest rate hikes were to blame.
The hasty withdrawal claimed the lives of 13 US soldiers, left thousands of Americans and allies stranded and signaled US weakness, but he immediately called it a “success.”
- His open borders policy has wreaked havoc across America, yet he has delivered nothing more than bureaucratic “fixes” that have still not stemmed the tide.
- Perhaps most tragically, Biden has struggled time and time again to get the weapons needed for Ukraine, risking a Russian victory there or a “peace” that only paves the way for the next invasion of Moscow. (Damn if he got great help from Kiev instead of saying empty words, Before Putin attacked, the Kremlin might have held back.)
The pattern, again and again: Biden ignores reality until it proves politically damaging, then delivers a lame, halfhearted response that screams, “I really don’t care.”

Is that what passes for leadership?
