Biden is ignoring and worsening the border crisis through bad policy

As waves of immigration cause great pain for cities like New York, President Biden’s border policies are drawing more and more people here – even many who may never have considered coming here.

Per Axios“Tens of thousands of Mexican families” have crossed the southern border in recent months, “exceeding previous numbers.”

This reflects a recent report that a record 91,000 migrants crossed the border as part of family groups in August, bringing the total for the fiscal year to more than 1,000 half a millionalso the highest ever in comparable periods.

Migration from Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, Peru and several Asian and African countries has also increased sharply.

And Wednesday brought a huge boost in the Arizona sector, led by young single men from Senegal.

The number of U.S. Customs and Border Protection encounters with Chinese immigrants rose to 6,163 in July – nearly quadruple the 1,743 in President Donald Trump’s last full month and more than triple the 2,191 in July 2022.

These newcomers recognize their opportunities – and seize them.

Team Biden actually did that boasted about how “legal” ways to enter the country (without congressional approval) have been expanded, allowing some lucky foreigners to obtain work permits in as little as six weeks and stay for at least two years.

Migrants are also crossing the border illegally in droves: in July alone, border guards arrested more than 10,000 Mexican family members; only 6,000 people came here illegally the whole year 2019.

And although the presidential office promised penalties for illegal border crossers, families are usually only allowed into the country with a notification that they must appear in court.

For many, this becomes a permanent residence.

It’s no wonder that the numbers are skyrocketing: While word gets out about how easy it has become to enter freely and without exception, even people who never expected to emigrate are deciding to enter the country, as long as the entry is good.

Biden & Co. are practical beg They will come: As The Post has reported, U.S. officials actually welded open 114 giant gates on the Arizona border, and migrants streamed across without even having to “check in” with the Border Patrol.

Our reporting has finally closed those gates – and now “encounters” are increasing in the very same sector where migrants are moving to Plan B.

The result for cities like New York: disaster.

Mayor Eric Adams says the migrant nightmare is about to “destroy” Gotham.

Cities and states have declared a state of emergency.

Chicago city councilors are angry about Mayor Brandon Johnson’s plan to create mini tent cities in their districts.

Either Biden is intentionally trying to cause this pain — or he simply lacks the backbone to stand up to the Democrats with open borders.

Either way, the pain will only get worse for Americans.
