Beyonce makes history, Aaron Carter snubbed

We laughed, we cried, we winced — the 65th Annual Grammy Awards turned out to be a twisting cycle of ups and downs of entertainment.

Led by veteran host Trevor Noah, 39, of Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, the Recording Academy’s star-studded celebration of music’s top hitmakers took audiences on a wild ride, complete with a high-energy show of Bad Bunny began and ended with a commendable ending performance by Jay-Z.

And though the LA traffic was sick of stopping Beyonce, no force could stop Queen Bey from making history as the artist who has won the most Grammy Awards of all time.

Her triumph, however, was celebrated alongside some pretty big blunders that scathing Twitter critics couldn’t help but notice, among other record-breaking moments of the night.

Here’s a list of the best and worst moments from the 2023 Grammy Awards.

The show was barely underway when Lizzo, 34, almost jumped out of her skin for a glimpse of the queen herself, Beyonce, 41. In his opening monologue, Noah mentioned that Beyonce was “in the room,” causing the singer’s “About Damn Time” to have her head spinning with excitement. Cameras caught her looking around anxiously for a glimpse of the royal majesty of music. And of course, social media jokers eagerly turned Lizzo’s fan-girl moment into a trending meme.

But online columns didn’t stop Lizzo from shouting out her idol as she was presented with the song of the year trophy. During her acceptance speech, she took time to thank Bey, tearfully saying, “Beyonce, in 5th grade I skipped school to see you… You changed my life. The way you made me feel — I was like, ‘I want my music to make people feel this way. I love you.'”
