After realizing he is being watched by someone staying at the same motel, Nacho sneaks out of his room and threatens the man who is spying on him. Unfortunately, he’s not the person Nacho has to worry about. The guy admits he’s just taking orders from higher ups – the police, the cartel, or anyone paying enough to justify it. Not wanting to kill the man, Nacho knocks him unconscious before leaving the motel.
Unfortunately he doesn’t get far. The Salamanca twins and their cronies pounce on the establishment, resulting in a wildly unbalanced shootout. Against all odds, Nacho manages to take out a few of the Salamancas’ men. He wires a car just in time to escape from the cousins. But the number of shots they fire at the vehicle puts Nacho in an even more precarious position in Episode 3.
Gus Fring learns the truth about Lalo Salamanca in Episode 2
Nacho isn’t the only one grappling with the aftermath of the failed assassination attempt on Lalos (Tony Dalton). Better call Saul Season 6 Episode 2, as Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) learns the truth about his target’s survival. Though all his sources are talking about Lalo’s death, Gus puts things together after a visit to Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis).
The two characters hate each other, so it’s incredibly upsetting to see Gus offer his condolences. Hector’s willingness to accept her is even more unnerving. And that just confirms Gus’ suspicions about Lalo.
This leaves him pondering his next move while Mike pushes to save Nacho. Gus seems reluctant to bring him back, causing serious tension between Gus and Mike. Mike even finds himself at gunpoint defending Nacho. The two don’t agree on the situation in “Carrot and Stick,” but Mike understands the risks of letting the Salamancas find Nacho — something that could end up affecting Gus.
Better Call Saul Season 6 reunites Jimmy and Kim with two familiar faces
Nacho’s story in Better call Saul Season 6, Episode 2 is undoubtedly the most exciting of them all, but Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) and Kim (Rhea Seehorn) continue to make progress on their Howard plan (Patrick Fabian) in “Carrot and Stick.” And for their next step, the couple meets familiar faces from back then Better call Saul season 1.
The Kettlemans are making a comeback in Episode 2, and as fans might suspect, they’re not exactly thrilled to see Jimmy again. Her family has been hit hard since Craig (Jeremy Shamos) pleaded guilty to his embezzlement case. Jimmy convinces them that Craig can be exonerated if they sue Howard. He tells them Howard was on drugs while representing them, something he claims “would be grounds for a civil suit.”
It’s all a lie designed to ruin Howard’s reputation, and the pair soon find that no lawyer is on their side when it comes to such claims. However, Jimmy and Kim get exactly what they want: Howard is suspected in front of his colleagues.
The icing on the cake is that Kim blackmails the couple into silencing them over Jimmy’s betrayal. Even Jimmy feels guilty by the end of the episode, leaving viewers wondering if Kim is finally getting worse than him. It’s a harrowing thought as we near the grand finale of the show.
