Yves Bissouma has caught the attention of expert Gary Neville after a superb performance for Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham shifted gears after half-time and their midfield shone against United.

Sarr was a surprise starter but justified Postecoglou’s trust by scoring the first with an excellent finish.

James Maddison was nothing short of outstanding, acting not only as a killer creative passer but also as a driving force in turning defense into offense.

The man behind them was Yves Bissouma, who was irresistible in the middle of the park.

The Malian seemed totally confident with his control in tight areas and his ability to dictate the game.

Bissouma notched four tackles, three clearances and an interception on a strong defensive display while possessing the quality to continue influencing the game up front.

Signed for £25million last summer after shining for BrightonBissouma didn’t really flourish under Antonio Conte.

Gary Neville pointed this out in a Sky Sports comment (19/08 7:20pm), suggesting that Bissouma is “not wanted” under the last Spurs manager.

Neville named Bissouma his man of the match against Manchester United after he also played “fantastic” against Brentford last week.

Neville commented that Bissouma was simply outstanding in all aspects of the game and was easily the best player on the pitch on Saturday.

“I think he was fantastic against Brentford last week but I think he was the best player on the pitch today,” said Neville. “Taking the ball also has more energy in it than the rest. He was brave, which you have to be in midfield in a Premier League game. You have to take it when it’s tight and compact and get past people, he broke the game, it was an all-around effort.”

“He wasn’t very popular last season, was he? He showed really excellent performances at the beginning of the season as Postecoglou gave him his chance and confidence,” he added.
