It’s the time of year to sip on a Pumpkin Spice Latte, wrap up warm in a comfy blanket, and start a healthy game. 2022 has been a great year for fans of intense titles like Elden Ring and Warzone 2, but it’s also been fantastic for leisurely gaming, and there’s no better time to embrace that leisureliness than Thanksgiving. Here’s a rundown of the best cozy games for 2022 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Ooblets

Ooblets combines farming, creature collection, and city simulation into one healthy bundle of joy. The dance-off system is a real highlight, adding a unique twist to turn-based RPG battles.

Ooblets has now left Early Access with its 1.0 update and is playable on PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

A little to the left

While this leisurely puzzler might count as wonderfully sane on its own as players sort, stack and organize household items into appealing arrangements, it’s the messy, mischievous cat that defines A Little to the Left’s gameplay.

Available on PC and Nintendo Switch, A Little to the Left is cute in its own way.

bear and breakfast

Bear and Breakfast is a bed and breakfast management game with a twist: you play as a bear!

Gameplay involves building and customizing the inn, keeping guests happy, and completing quests and storylines to collect new items and perks.

cult of the Lamb

Described as a “must-play experience” in my review, Cult of the Lamb may seem like the complete opposite of “healthy,” but it’s actually very cute and cozy. Although yes, players take on the role of a cult leader who has brainwashed his followers, but all in an enchanting way.

Roguelike dungeon crawling combines with city management for a truly immersive experience available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

coral island

Currently only available via Early Access on PC but hopefully expanding to more platforms after full launch, Coral Island is a vibrant and laid-back reimagining of farming simulation games.

Coral Reef has over 70 people calling it home, all waiting to interact with the player. Tend to crops, care for animals, and bond with friendly people and nature around you.

slime breeder 2

Slime Rancher 2 improves on everything that made the first game so good and is back with new slimes for players to mess with in a vibrant world.

Rainbow Island is the new location to explore, and it’s filled with a large number of jiggling, jiggling new slimes to discover.

Two point campus

Two Point Campus gives players the opportunity to create the university campus of their dreams and shape the lives of students in a variety of ways. This management sim can be as relaxed or frenetic as you like, although I’d recommend slowing things down for those looking to have a “lazy” gaming session.

Two Point Campus is playable on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

Disney Dreamlight Valley

Though it’s technically in paid Early Access, Disney Dreamlight Valley deserves a nod as its life sim gameplay works well with the Disney character roster. For both adults and children who are fans of Disney media, Dreamlight Valley successfully captures the magic and wonder.
