Cincinnati Bengals full-back Joe Burrow dislocated his pinky on his pitching hand during Sunday’s 41-22 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Burrow injured his right little finger when he was the victim of a sack that lasted more than six minutes into the opening round. He remains in the competition and also confirmed he will be on the field for next Sunday’s home game against the San Francisco 49ers.

“It’s just something I’m going to have to deal with,” Burrow told reporters. “I won’t miss any games because of it. That is not what will happen. ”

Burrow completed 24 of 40 passes for 300 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Sunday’s defeat. He’s also rushing for a third encounter of the season.

As his finger got worse and worse, the Bengals training staff tried to bandage it and give Burrow gloves to protect his hand.

But in the end Burrow tore the bandages and didn’t want part of the gauntlet.

“It was a decision to make it feel better or to keep pitching somewhat,” Burrow said. “I decided I could pitch.”

The 300-yard outing was Burrow’s third of the season. He passed 3,135 yards, 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 12 games.
