Ben Simmons and duo Frozen grab combo houses at Olympia

The Olympia — a 33-story luxury tower in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood — is having a moment, attracting creatives from the entertainment, fashion and sports worlds. And now news is leaking out about new high-profile figures buying houses there.
Australian-born Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons, a three-time NBA All-Star, has landed a combo deal for two apartments on the 21st floor, creating an eight-bedroom loft-like space for a total of $12 million, Gimme Shelter have learned.
The condo — not far from Barclays Center — is 5,578 square feet with 322 square feet of outdoor space. The condo features an open chef’s kitchen and ceilings up to 11 feet tall.
“It’s so big he could probably play basketball in the apartment,” quipped an insider with knowledge of the deal.

This purchase disclosure comes nearly a year after Gimme reported that Simmons had a contract to purchase the station wagon for around $13 million. Around this time, tennis pro Naomi Osaka and her entourage went on a tour of the building as part of an apartment hunt.
According to published reports published this week in Crain’s and Mansion Global, the building has two other additions to the known occupant count.
The Academy Award-winning songwriting couple responsible for the very catchy hit “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen – Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez – paid $11.34 million for two similar units in April 24 .stock issued.

Robert Lopez is a rare EGOT winner, meaning he’s one of only 18 people to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony.
At 48, he is also the youngest EGOT with the rare honor of having won all of these awards twice. He co-created the hit shows The Book of Mormon and Avenue Q, while his wife’s credits include In Transit.
For her part, she has won two Oscars and two Grammy Awards.

The larger of their two apartments, according to Mansion Global, is 2,849 square feet with four bedrooms, views of the Brooklyn Bridge, and a deck overlooking the East River. The smaller apartment is 1,485 square feet and has two bedrooms.
Additionally, we’re hearing that a $17.5 million, 4,266-square-foot penthouse is also under contract from a major entertainer.
The 38,000-square-foot building facilities include a regular-size tennis court, two pools, a two-lane bowling alley and an exercise facility with a juice bar.
