Ben Affleck, Ana de Armas Erotic Thriller Deep Water Has Come to Hulu

Deep water may still be drifting after it all, follow Limit line. After being dropped from Disney’s calendar last week, the 20th Century Studios and New Regency movies are said to have been picked up by streaming network Hulu, who will bring Adrian Lyne directed the domestic release, while Amazon will handle the film’s international release. Although the upcoming erotic thriller, starring Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, will land in cinemas on January 14, 2022, streaming platforms have yet to announce the film’s release date.
Lyne is no stranger to creating sex thriller blockbusters. The director received a nomination at the 1988 Academy Award for Best Director for his work in Paramount’s breakout horror film, Deadly Attraction, highlighted Glenn Close and Michael Douglas. Along with the Oscar nomination, the film also grossed more than $ 320 million worldwide. Deep water will mark the director’s first time going behind the camera since the 2002 erotic thriller Unfaithful, main character Richard Gere and Diane Street.
Deep water, take its story from Patricia HighsmithThe novel of the same name, tells the story of Vic (Affleck) and Melinda Van Allen (de Armas). The couple is in a toxic marriage, both are not as happy as the other but don’t want a divorce. Not knowing how to save their relationship, the couple decided to go public with their marriage and each began to see people outside of their relationship. However, things quickly go south as those close to the duo disappear only to die in mysterious circumstances.
The novel was adapted by Zach Helm and Sam Levinson, and even the stars Tracy Letts, Rachel Blanchard, Dash Mihok, Lil Rel Howery, Jacob Elordi, Kristen Connolly, and Jade Fernandez.
Movies may also perform better through streaming services than in theaters at the time as low turnout is wreaking havoc on adult movies across the country. Steven Spielbergscheduled to release his retelling of the beloved musical West Edge Story opened last weekend with only 10.5 million USD. The numbers for West story pales in comparison to expected $135 million – $155 million in the upcoming opening weekend Spider-Man: There’s no way home shows that blockbusters are currently big money makers. Whatever the case is for Deep water, we’re happy that the movie will be released regardless of what platform it’s playable on. There is currently no release date for Deep water.
