A prosecutor in a courtroom in Bagley, Minnesota was moved to tears. Pastor Verlyn Strenge was the victim of a tragic car accident, and his last sermon was about forgiveness.

Fifty-eight year old David Nelson has ended pastor of Jeep in 2020 and has been irreparably damaged. He drank too much and was driving at high speed. He knew he was going to jail, But he didn’t expect his family’s reaction to him.

Nelson’s attorney, Christopher Karpan, indicated that they did not want to defend his actions. He accepted his punishment and prison sentence.

Nelson also spoke and thanked the family for their kindness. He speak: “I greatly appreciate the forgiving aspect of what they’ve offered. I decided today I’m not going to ask for it.”

After the hearing, Various members of the Strenge family went to Nelson. Their actions were unexpected. Mrs. Strenge, like her son and daughter, embraced the guilty man.


In a moment of sadness, Mrs. Strenge stated: “I forgive you, David, forgive yourself.” The scene of the trial was full of emotion. The warmth shown towards Nelson was unforgettable for those in attendance.
