Battleship Texas is open to the public for the last time from December 4 to December 5
The 107-year-old relic of both World Wars will be moored and headed to the shipyard shortly after the new year.
The battleship is temporarily open Saturday and Sunday.
After decades of patchwork to prevent leaks, and then the recent holes that may have sunk the Texas ship, the historic battleship is finally brought to the shoal for proper repairs. .
You may recall in 2019 the warship experienced a major leak and the future of the ship is in doubt. The Texas Battleship Foundation (BTF) has decided that the Galveston & Dong Gulf Shipyards will become the new temporary home for the ship in the new year to undertake major hull repairs.
Anyone who wants to visit for the last time can buy a ticket on Battleship Texas’ website or directly at the ship.
