Barcelona considers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele . swap deal

Barcelona are hoping to take advantage Pierre-Emerick AubameyangDisciplinary issues at Arsenal and could offer Ousmane Dembele in a swap deal for the striker.

Aubameyang has been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy and will not be available to choose for the clash West Ham on Wednesday after returning late to the club from an overseas trip.

A club statement read: ‘We expect all of our players, especially our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have set and agreed to. . We are fully focused on tomorrow’s match. ‘

While the 32-year-old could return to the Gunners side as early as Saturday at Leeds United, his future at the Emirates is uncertain and could leave as early as next month during the January transfer window. .

Barcelona are in need of a striker and are keen to add Aubameyang to their ranks, although his huge salary at Arsenal will prove prohibitive amid their financial difficulties.

The Gabon international earns a base salary of £250,000 a week with higher bonuses and he is said to be unwilling to take a pay cut if he leaves Arsenal.

The Independent reports that Barcelona will look to accomplish this by offering Dembele in a swap deal, with the Frenchman only believed to earn £30,000 to £50,000 at Barca compared with Aubameyang at Arsenal.

Barcelona would rather get something in return for the striker than let him go on a free transfer in the summer and swapping Aubameyang could be their best bet.

Aubameyang’s contract runs until 2023 after signing a new big deal in 2020, a deal that hasn’t really proved much value for the Gunners so far.
