Banksy says fashion retailer Guess “helped himself” with his work.

Renowned graffiti artist Banksy on Friday criticized fashion retailer Guess, saying he had used his work without permission and inviting shoplifters to pay a visit to the London store.
Banksy, whose real identity is a closely guarded secret, has posted a photo of Guess’s shop on Regent Street in central London on Instagram and suggested shoplifters to pay him a visit.
“Shoplifters beware. Please go to GUESS on Regent Street. They took my artwork without asking, how can it be wrong to do the same with their clothes? The post told Banksy’s 11.6 million followers.
The window display featured Banksy’s Flower Thrower graffiti and showcased a new capsule collection from Guess, which the website says was “created in collaboration with Brandalised, an urban graffiti license whose mission is to bring affordable graffiti collectibles to Banksy fans.”

After the Banksy post, store staff covered the window displays.
Guess was not immediately available for comment.
Last week Banksy unveiled a plant in the Ukrainian town of Borodyanka, which was occupied by Russia until April and badly damaged by fighting in the early days of the Moscow invasion.
