Baltimore 7-Eleven & Perry Hall Gas Station Latest Target of ATM Heists – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – ONE 7-Eleven in Northeast Baltimore was ransacked Wednesday morning is the latest business to be targeted in a string of attempted ATM thefts across the region.

Police say the suspects targeted a 7-Eleven on the corner of Radecke and Frankford Avenues, but they were unable to retrieve the device.

Police said six unidentified male suspects arrived at the location around 4:25 a.m. Wednesday and drove a vehicle into the building. Officials said they tried to get the ATM but couldn’t, so they drove away.

One store employee told WJZ: “It was like a lorry backed in there and knocked the entire structure on the side of the store.

The store opened and a worker arrived about 90 minutes after the burglary intending to speak to WJZ.

“I’m really grateful that we’re really fine, no one was hurt,” the employee said. “Like I said, teleporting the graveyard is dangerous to work with.”

The manager of 7-Eleven said two of his stores were targeted this week. He said there had been an armed robbery at a location in Baltimore County and now there was this attempted ATM theft. He said his main concern is for the safety of his employees.

He says you can “work hard to get your money back, but for employees, I don’t want nothing to happen to my employees.”

The entire area, from the city to nearly every surrounding county, has experienced people trying to steal ATMs.

Less than seven miles northeast of the Baltimore site, Baltimore County police said the thieves used a similar tactic when they stormed into a Shell gas station off Bel Air Road, then drove away by engine. ATM.
