Azsia Johnson’s ex arrested in murder of 20-year-old NYC mom

The ex-boyfriend of the 20-year-old woman, who was fatally shot while walking her 3-month-old in a stroller on the Upper East Side, has been taken into custody, police sources said.

The 24-year-old man, who police were hunting as a person of interest in the killing of Azsia Johnson, was taken to Manhattan’s 19 Precinct Friday night, sources said.

No fees were disclosed.

Johnson’s ex-boyfriend was taken into custody in connection with the case.

The ex-boyfriend was on law enforcement’s radar over allegations of abusive and “stalking” Johnson in the past, sources and relatives said.

Johnson was on her way to visit her ex when she was shot in the head at close range near Lexington Avenue and East 95th Street on Wednesday, law enforcement sources said.

The shooting took place at Lexington Avenue and East 95th Wednesday night.

The tragic young woman told police on New Year’s Day that her ex assaulted her at his home in Jamaica, Queens, while she was six months pregnant with his child, according to her mother Lisa Desort and police sources.

Desort told the Post she had been desperate to hear that her daughter’s killer had been arrested and said she would feel “a little bit safer” once he was in custody.

No charges were brought in connection with Johnson’s murder.

When Desort reached her by phone Friday night, she said she was still waiting for confirmation of the arrest from police.

“If he’s arrested, my baby will get some justice,” Desort said Friday.

“It doesn’t bring my daughter back or change the fact that Queens Police didn’t protect her, but I’ll deal with it another day.” Azsia Johnson’s ex arrested in murder of 20-year-old NYC mom
