Atlanta nurses who mocked expectant mothers in a TikTok video have been fired from Emory Healthcare hospital

A quartet of Atlanta nurses have been fired for recording a viral TikTok video complaining about the irritating habits of the patients they are tasked with helping and their families.

“We already told you to press the call light,” says a nurse in the clip. “But every five minutes a family member comes to the front desk and asks for something else.”

Then a colleague enters the picture and makes a sarcastic impression of a demanding relative.

“Sorry! Sorry! Sorry!” She says. “Can I have some water? Excuse me! Can I have a blanket?”

Four Emory Healthcare employees appeared in the minute-long clip, which circulated online before it was taken down.

Another nurse who appeared in the video moans about mothers asking about the weight of their newborns while still holding them.

The delivery room taunts sparked a torrent of outrage and concern from online watchers, many of whom said nurses should not denounce those they are intended for.

“Imagine saying these things only with women [vulnerable] moment in our lives,” said one poster.

ABC affiliate WSB-TV confirmed that all of the nurses in the video had resigned.

In a statement, the hospital denied the behavior of the nurses.

“This video does not represent our commitment to patient- and family-centric care and does not reflect the values ​​and standards we expect and demonstrate in every member of our team,” Emory University Midtown Hospital said in a statement following the video’s distribution.

The -Ex employees shot the video as part of TikTk’s “ick” challenge, where employees complain about the more uncomfortable aspects of their job.
