Aston Villa have reportedly suffered a double injury blow as the ‘brilliant’ player returns to training

Aston Villa have hit a double injury boost with Alex Moreno returning to training and Jacob Ramsey about to return to coach Unai Emery after the international break.
That’s according to the Express & Star, which reports that Moreno is now back at Bodymoor Heath and Aston Villa players are not representing their nations. Emery has been without left-back since suffering a thigh injury in May. But he could return to the pitch soon.
Moreno is now in contention for minutes as Aston Villa resume their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace. The Eagles travel to Villa Park on September 16 looking for their first away win against the Villans since December 2013. Crystal Palace have lost on four of their last six visits.

Alex Moreno could return from injury when Aston Villa host Crystal Palace
Lucas Digne has had a largely positive start to the season after returning to the left-back role at Aston Villa following Moreno’s injury. The 30-year-old fell out of Emery’s favor with the Spaniard after his arrival in Birmingham. He joined £13.5m in January.
Aston Villa backed Emery to sign Moreno from Real Betis as the head coach felt the 30-year-old was an upgrade for Digne. Emery Moreno then started 14 of a potential 19 Premier League games. He suffered a thigh injury in the penultimate game of the 2021/22 season.

Moreno also often impressed, with Alan Shearer and Ian Wright praising his “brilliant” crosses in Ollie Watkins against West Ham. The full-back brought precise balls into the penalty area and scored three assists in 19 appearances. Digne scored one goal in 28 games without a single assist last season.
Jacob Ramsey gives Unai Emery a double boost during the international break
Ramsey has also given Emery a second boost as the midfielder is also close to returning to action at Aston Villa following his injury. The 22-year-old is also yet to feature this season after suffering a foot injury while playing for the England Under-21 side at the 2023 European Championships.

Aston Villa hope to welcome Ramsey back to full fitness in the next few weeks. With 35 Premier League appearances, he was a key figure in the club’s squad last season. The Birmingham-born star also scored six goals and seven assists and started 31 of his games.
