Asmongold Rage is leaving the new WoW raid to play Elden Ring instead

Twitch star Asmongold was growing increasingly frustrated with WoW Shadowlands Patch 9.2 Raid, Tomb of the First, leading him to end it entirely and play Elden Ring instead.

WoW Shadowlands patch 9.2 added new Eternity’s End content including the final raid titled Tomb of the First.

While many players were excited to complete the Shadowlands storyline and reclaim the soul of Alliance hero Anduin Wrynn, Twitch star Asmongold was at his wits end trying to complete the raid.

The 30-year-old streamer was there live on March 1 as he tried the new raid for the first time.

Shocked by how difficult the quest was, Asmon dubbed himself against early raid bosses multiple times during a brief stint on the show.

Eventually, he admitted he’d lost the drive to even finish the raid, saying, “At this point, all I want to do is play Elden Ring. To be perfectly honest, that’s how I feel.”

After another attempt at the raid, he actually relented and switched to Elden Ring: “Is it weird just not giving af**k? I just don’t care.”

The day after the anger subsided, he released a video detailing his thoughts on the new heist and how he underperformed.

“I just think WoW raids have gotten too hard for the average player, and I think it’s too much,” he said.

“Again, I can do it, it’s fine,” he explained. “I’ve completed all battles on Mythic through Battle for Azeroth. Really, so it’s not that I can’t do these things, it’s more that I don’t really want to.

“I think that’s another real problem with the game. I don’t really care about getting the new gear because I just know it will be replaced by something I’ll be looting in the open world in the next patch.”

Asmongold went as far as comparing it to Lost Ark, which features a progression system to entice players to keep coming back. Right now, Asmon sees no point in grinding WoW when the rewards are so fleeting. Asmongold Rage is leaving the new WoW raid to play Elden Ring instead
