Hong Kong fell more than 1% while Tokyo fell. Shanghai and Seoul are higher while Sydney is almost unchanged. On Thursday, the S&P 500 rose 1.4% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.8%. Nasdaq rose 0.8%. Shares of small companies outperformed the rest of the market. Crude oil prices rose after OPEC stuck to its plan to increase output through steady, modest monthly gains.
