Ashling Murphy’s heartbreaking visit to the family is met with a murder scene as the beloved girl takes her on her final journey home

ASK Murphy’s heartbroken family has re-visited the scene of her murder – and today took their beloved girl on one last journey home before she is laid to rest on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old teacher’s funeral arrangements were confirmed today, days after she was brutally killed while jogging in the Irish town of Tullamore, County Offaly.
And devastated mum and dad Kathleen and Raymond, along with sister Amy, brother Cathal and boyfriend Ryan Casey have told of their heartbreak, saying Ashling would be “so sad”.
She returned to the family home for a few hours today, after her family once again visited the scene of her murder at Cappincur.
The family, who also attended a vigil at the scene of the murder on the famous canal walk on Friday, were escorted to the site by Gardai, where they stayed for about 10 minutes. .
The first grade teacher will recuperate at home on Monday before being taken to St Brigid’s Church in Mountbolus for an 11am intercession Tuesday before being interred at Lowertown Cemetery in Mountbolus.
Prayers for Ashling were held at Masses nationwide this morning as prayers continued at home and abroad.
Huge crowds gathered to light candles and pay homage silently at Greystones, Birr, Kilkenny, Athlone, Lurgan, Howth, Ballincollig and Sligo.
Support for the Ashling family is also evident as far away as Barcelona, Brussels, Manchester and Dubai.
hurdles Offaly and Antrim formed an A on the field before their Walsh Cup game while hurdles team Meath and Westmeath GAA withdrew the number 23 in honor of Ashling, as well as female players Offaly and Clare.
Father Joe Gallagher of Church of the Assumption in Tullamore told mass-goers: “Life can be cruel, and we don’t know why.”
Praying for Ashing and her grieving family, Father Gallagher added: “We can’t even begin to understand their pain and we want to reach out to them and get them through a terrible time. this horror.”
