He’s a familiar face to a lot of us growing up, but Art Attack star Neil Buchanan looks a lot different today than he did on children’s TV.

The 65-year-old created and presented CITV programming and helped many children get creative during his career in the 90s.

He starred on the show for 19 seasons from 1990 to 2007, and he’s changed a bit since the show left our screens.

Neil had a fresh face throughout his time on the show. Now, he has a goatee and a bit of salt and pepper in his hair.

The show, which fans will remember he co-hosted with a (somewhat creepy) talking statuette, saw Neil teach kids how to create their own works of art out of objects. in the home.

However, that was not always his main ambition. The artist and presenter was a musician before taking on the role of the beloved presenter, having formed the Liverpool heavy metal band Marseille in 1976.

After his Art Attack career ended, he rejoined the group and played live with them since 2009.

Since then, he’s also found himself at the center of some of the more bizarre conspiracy theories on the internet.

In 2020, social media users began spreading rumors that Neil was in fact street artist Banksy, with fans claiming that his artwork had been cropped in locations where he was found. She performed with her band.

He later denied the rumors with a statement on his website.

It read: ‘We received a lot of inquiries over the weekend about the current social media story.

‘Unfortunately, this site does not have the infrastructure to answer all of these questions individually, however, we can confirm that none of the rumors are true.’
