Armed robbers ambush BMW in staged carjacking: video

The NYPD is searching for a group of armed criminals linked to at least four carjackings in Brooklyn and Queens over the past month involving staged fender-benders.

Police released surveillance video Wednesday of the latest incident, which took place at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Hendrix Street in Brooklyn.

According to police, a 40-year-old man was driving a gray 2017 BMW when a black sedan deliberately overtook his vehicle, according to newly released footage.

As the BMW driver got out of the car, he was confronted by men dressed all in black who held guns at him before fleeing in the two cars. The victim was not injured.

The first carjacking attributed to this crew took place just before 5 a.m. on October 15 at the intersection of 194th Street and 112th Avenue in the St. Albans area of ​​Queens. A 27-year-old man was driving a gray 2013 Ford when a white Toyota following close behind hit his car, police said.

As the Ford driver got out of his car, he was confronted by gunmen who jumped out of the Toyota. They pointed a gun at him and then drove away in their car and the man’s Ford.

Less than a week later, on October 19, at around 2:15 a.m. on Linden Place in Flushing, Queens, a 67-year-old man was driving a 2018 Mercedes-Benz SUV when he was hit from behind.

As the victim got out of his vehicle, police said he was punched and kicked by several suspects, who stole his SUV and abandoned him.

At around 2:30 a.m. on October 21, a 52-year-old man was driving a 2017 Ford on Elton Street in the East New York borough when a 2015 Infiniti Q50 crashed into him from behind.

As the victim got out of his limousine, the two occupants of the Infiniti beat him, punched him in the body and stole his phone before speeding off in the two cars.

The 52-year-old man was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

So far, no arrests have been made in any of the carjackings. Police released video of the recent Brooklyn incident in hopes of generating leads.
