Ariana Grande performs high notes on ‘Just Look Up’ with Kid Cudi: – Billboard

Ariana Grande step aside for a moment after her training mission on NBC’s Voice, for a sparkling (and slightly dark) new ballad, “Just Look Up”, a collaboration with Kid Cudi.
New numbers drop at midnight and take the lead from the Netflix movie Don’t look up in which they both play the main roles.
On it, Grande showcases her range and control, even showing off the high notes that Mariah Carey would be proud of. “Just look up / Turn off that inbox message / Because you’re dying people / Look up / It’s here / I’m so glad I’m here with you / Forever in your arms,” she sings.
Both Grande and Cudi have written credit for the song, in addition to Nicholas Britell and Taura Stintson.
Don’t look up features a stacked cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Leonardo DiCaprio and two singing stars.
The film’s synopsis reads: “Kate Dibiasky (Lawrence), a graduate student in astronomy, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (DiCaprio) have made an amazing discovery. about a comet orbiting the solar system. The problem – it’s a direct collision with the Earth. The remaining problem? No one really seems to care. It turns out that warning humanity of a planetary killer the size of Mount Everest is an inconvenient reality to navigate.”
It hits select theaters December 10 and premieres December 24 – Christmas Eve – on Netflix.
