Apex Legends’ energy shooter rifle, the Triple Take, is a popular choice for those looking to pop some virtual heads, but the flash that’s created when bullets hit enemies blinds players and is the latest Wrath theme become the player.
No matter what FPS you’re playing, there are some weapons that are just built a little differently than others. Apex Legends is no exception, with a clear weapon meta appearing in both standard battle royale and 3v3 arena modes.
Tier A ranks the Triple Take, a particularly nasty energy sniper rifle that transitions from being powerful in close-ranged combat in the early game to becoming a deadly sniper over time.
Aside from its latent firepower, however, it turns out that players have encountered another problem with the Triple Take and it’s leaving players with a raging headache and gray screen in the Apex games.
Apex Legends’ Triple Take has a flash issue
During an Arenas match where his squad was sadly wiped out, one player noticed that the flash makes it very difficult to see him when he’s hit by bullets from the Triple Take.
“The Flash effect of the Triple Take should be removed or greatly reduced,” they say to write. “It totally messes with the tracking and REALLY hurts the eyes.”
When attaching a video clip of the 1v1 faceoff between them and the opposing Bloodhound, the flashes are really a bit painful to watch when the video is slowed down. This not only gives you a headache, but also makes it very difficult to follow the enemy.
“Honestly, I never thought it was that bad until this clip. Wowzer,” reads one comment, while another notes, “Visual clarity is an issue with a lot of things.”
Others claim that the flashes are not a problem. “I’ve never noticed it while playing games,” reads one reply, while another concludes, “it’s on your screen for milliseconds. To the point where most people commenting never realized this was happening…”
However, back in January, Respawn acknowledged issues with visual clutter and VFX in general in Apex and said they were investigating.
Respawn is aware of the visual clarity and screen clutter/VFX issues in Apex Legends and will be addressing community feedback on this issue “in the near future”.

Whether or not the blinking isn’t an issue, some seem to want Respawn to do something for visual clarity for those on the other end of the Triple Take’s run. Until then, however, grab your sunglasses and some aspirin because it’s about to get light.
