Apex Legends players want the “Medic” buff to make Lifeline relevant again

Lifeline is one of Apex Legends’ most iconic characters, but some fans find she underwhelms compared to the competition. This Combat Medic themed buff might be just the thing to get them back in the hands and hearts of players.

Pick rates may not tell the full story of a legend, but they’re a useful tool for understanding how a character develops in the eyes of the general public.

She maintains a mid-rate for Lifeline in Season 12, but since she’s one of the game’s only true healers, there’s a contingent of fans who believe she should be at the front of the boards with Wraith.

To achieve this, a fan came up with a small buff that could have a big impact.

Apex Legends players are claiming the Combat Medic buff for Lifeline

Lifeline has a pick rate of 4.9% in Season 12.

Ajay Che’s skills should be familiar to anyone who has played Apex.

Her Tactical is a healing drone that juices up any teammates who stand by, her ultimate calls down a care pack containing rare treats, and she can also use the drone to pick up downed teammates when they go down.

These are all powerful boosts in their own right, but they limit the character’s effectiveness out of combat.

This fan-designed buff would make her a little more useful by carrying twice as many healing items, similar to how the pyromanic detonator can carry extra grenades in its inventory.

Such a change would mean other squadmates could focus on holding on to the consumables as Lifeline could soak up the heals behind them.

Not only would this give the team more offensive options overall, but being able to rely on the extra heals would mean squads could enter chaotic combat with more confidence.

While it might not be a perfect solution, such support would go well with Legends like Octane, Valkyrie, Wraith, and Pathfinder, all of which are in the top 5 most popular choices right now.

There’s no telling what direction Respawn will take the character when a buff eventually arrives, but it’s clear fans are ready for some changes.
