Antonio Banderas wants Tom Holland to play “Zorro” in a reboot

Antonio Banderas ready to hand over the mask.
The ‘Puss and Boots’ actor revealed Saturday that he would like ‘Spiderman’ alum Tom Holland to don the iconic Zorro mask should the franchise get a reboot, Comicbook exclusively reveals.
When asked who he would like to see play the greatest swordsman in the world, he immediately said Holland.
“Tom Holland,” said the 56-year-old actor. “I did ‘Uncharted’ with him and he’s so energetic and funny and he has that spark too. Why not?”
The former Spy Kids star said he’s also considering returning to the franchise.
“Yes, I would. I would consider that possibility. Why not,” Banderas said.
“I think during today’s interviews I said something like that to someone … I said if they call it Zoro, I’m going to do what Anthony Hopkins did in the first movie and so pass the torch on to someone else.”
There are currently no plans for a Zorro reboot.
The Post has reached out to Holland and Banderas for comment.

According to Banderas, in June 2021, famed director Quinton Tarantino approached him about the possibility of doing a crossover between Django Unchained and the Zorro franchise.
“He just walked up to me and I was like, ‘In your hands? Yeah man,” Banderas told USA Today.
“Because Quentin just has a nature to do these kinds of films and bring quality to them. Even if they’re based on those B-movies from the ’60s and ’70s, he can take that footage and do something really interesting.”

“We’ve never worked together before, but it would be great because of him, because of Jamie Foxx and because he’d play Zoro again when he’s a little older. It would be amazing and fun and crazy,” the actor continued.
