Announced First Artist to Perform Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert

GEORGE Ezra has been confirmed as the first artist to wow the crowd at the Queen’s upcoming Platinum Anniversary Concert.

The 28-year-old singer will take to the stage in front of 10,000 fans as well as millions for a live concert on June 4, marking the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s 70th anniversary.

Appeared on The One Show live from Buckingham PalaceHost of the Capital Breakfast Roman Kemp stood in the music room to announce the news.

In a statement, the award-winning musician Ezrawho is currently suffering from chickenpox, said: “Hi everyone, I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to be a part of the team. The Queen’s Platinum Year concert, what an incredible honor to be asked.

“I look forward to seeing you all on June 4, where we can bring pop and roll to the palace.”

Kemp announced: The Platinum Party At The Palace will have three stages, 3D projection across the entire palace and 10,000 live audiences.

He added: “It’s going to be fun. June 4, so you know the weather is going to be absolutely amazing, go live on BBC One and absolutely the best party you’ll ever be in.

“Not only that, we’ll have rock royalties there, your favorite movie stars, TV stars, all the musicians you could ask for, and then we also had myself and Clara Amfo going back to the activity to see how everyone is going.

“But the most high-tech thing we’re working on is that the whole palace will be 3D projected around it so it’s eye-catching.

“It was streamed live on BBC One and iPlayer, even if you’re one of the lucky 10,000 to get a ticket to go down here, to be honest, this is not something you’ll be able to get away with. “

Voting for tickets opens at 7 a.m. on Thursday, February 24 and will remain open for a month so everyone has a chance to win a pair of tickets.

In 2002, S Club 7 and members of the rock band Queen performed at the palace during the Jubilee.

In 2012, Gary Barlow held celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary, including performances from Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Mr. Tom JonesSir Paul McCartney and Ed Sheeran.

Co-hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating presented The One Show live from the palace’s blue living room to mark 100 days until Platinum weekend.

Keating closed the show with a live performance of the song When You Say Nothing At All.
